máXimo is proud to be the official source for designs by Alexander Girard. We work closely with the Girard family to reissue meticulously reproduced (and until recently, out-of-print) designs back into the marketplace. As part of our strategy to raise awareness of Girard’s contribution to 20th century design, we also identify licensing opportunities with reputable design companies in the various categories in which Girard worked. A perfect example is our partnership with Maharam to reissue Girard textiles as part of its line "Textiles of the 20th Century," which also includes designs by Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson, Gio Ponti, Verner Panton, Arne Jacobsen, and Anni Albers. Other projects with companies like Kate Spade, Jack Spade, House Industries, and Chronicle Books have brought new applications to classic designs.

In addition to our focus on Girard, we also offer work by designers and artists who have similar design sensibilities and philosophies, from hand-woven modern tapesties by Alexander Calder to whimsical hand-embroidered dolls by Marilyn Neuhart. máXimo picks up right where Girard's Textile & Object Shop left off, providing a diverse and surprising array of design objects, perfectly in sync with today's increased interest in mid-century design.
